MarketCancun Wedding Consultant does most of the work for you, leaving you stress-free to enjoy your wedding! Both the future bride and groom must plan on arriving in Cancún (or the Riviera Maya) at least three business days prior to the marriage ceremony. Here are the steps:

The partyAS SOON AS POSSIBLE BEFORE THE WEDDING: Get together these original documents and two sets of copies—

--Mexican Birth Certificate

--Valid Official Identification with Photo: Either IFE Voter Registration Card or Passport

--If divorced or widowed, legal divorce decree or certificate of death (If it is from another country, it must be sealed with an apostille* from the country where the death or divorce took place, and translated** by an authorized translator if the document is not in Spanish. These documents also are needed for a divorced or widowed non-Mexican citizen.)

The dresse--Legal birth certificate: It must be sealed with an apostille* in your birth country. (Or be certified as a true copy of the original.) If it is not in Spanish, it must be translated by an authorized translator**.

--Valid passport from your country of origin.

-- Mexican tourist card or other document (FM2 or FM3) which certifies your legal stay in the country.

-- In order to marry a Mexican citizen, the non-Mexican citizen must obtain permission issued by the Migratory Office of the Mexican Ministry of the Interior. Obtaining of this permit may be carried out through Cancun Wedding Consultant in Cancún or through the Mexican Embassy or Consulate in your resident country. In any case, we recommend that you get this procedure started as soon as possible since each embassy or consulate has different policies and waiting periods for issuing the permit.

MusiciansAt least three business days (Monday through Friday) before your wedding, Cancun Wedding Consultant must meet with you at your hotel or residence to:

--Help you fill out the marriage certificate application.

--Receive the aforementioned documents from both the bride and groom.

--Assist both future bride and groom in getting a Medical Certificate (Usually can be done in the hotel if you wish, or from your personal doctor who resides within Mexico. It must have been done in Mexico less than two weeks prior to the wedding, and be written in Spanish).

--Get a pre-nuptial blood test for HIV, STD, and RH factor. A lab technician can come to your hotel to have them done. The results will be sent directly to the judge by Cancun Wedding Consultant. It must have been done in Mexico less than two weeks prior to the wedding, and be written in Spanish.

--Provide your four witnesses, if you have them. (See below).

These procedures don’t take long, but they must be followed before a judge will permit couples to be married; otherwise, he will not allow a legal wedding to take place.
Cancun Wedding Consultant will help you in any way possible.

walking-The future bride and groom must each provide two witnesses who are 18 years or older.

-- If the witnesses are non-Mexicans, they must show their valid passport and Mexican tourist card, or a FM2 or FM3 document certifying their legal stay in the country, and furnish two copies of them.
--Mexican witnesses must present a valid official identification with photograph (passport or IFE voter registration card), and two copies.

These four witnesses must be present at least three business days before the wedding when the future couple fills out the application for a marriage certificate. The same four designated witnesses must also be present at the civil ceremony. If they are not, the judge will not be able to preside over the marriage ceremony.

If you won’t be able to provide four witnesses, Cancun Wedding Consultant will gladly furnish them for you so that the ceremony may be performed.

Look*In the U.S. and Canada, call your state’s Secretary of State Department or the Mexican Embassy to find out how to get your documents apostillized BEFORE YOU COME TO MEXICO.

**If you have not had your legal documents translated prior to arriving, Cancun Wedding Consultant can have this done for you.
