Catholic Weddings
Couples wishing to have a Catholic wedding must know that the Catholic religion stipulates that your wedding ceremony take place in a Catholic church. It is fortunate that Cancun and the Riviera Maya have an ample variety of lovely choices for setting the scene for your dream ceremony.
You may choose anything from large, modernistic churches in Cancun to little fishing village-atmospheric churches which are available in several small towns along the Riviera Maya. Some area hotels have chapels on their grounds where a meaningful, intimate ceremony can take place with only a few family members or friends present.
When you get in touch with Cancun Wedding Consultant, we can advise you and help you make the choice that’s right for you. And if you still want wedding pictures or a short beachside ceremony, it can be done either before or after the religious ceremony or as part of the legal civil ceremony.
Catholic churches may be decorated with floral arrangements, candles, ribbons, garlands, cloth draping, or other beautiful wedding adornments both inside the church and at the entrance. We will be happy to make suggestions for decorations in the church which will set the mood exactly to your liking.
Since marriage is considered a holy sacrament in the Catholic faith, all religious formalities should be taken care of directly by the couple. The future bride and groom should get together needed documents in their home parish before coming to Cancun for their wedding.

Baptismal Certificate-Confirmation Certification
Proof of premarital talks with your home parish priest (or local priest)
The future bride and groom must each turn in a head-shot, 4 X4 centimeter color picture.
